Notification of Our Policy on Employee Substance Abuse and Notification of Our Drug/Alcohol Testing for all On-the-Job Injuries
To Employees and Applicants

This notice is to inform you that any substance abuse involving alcohol, marijuana, or any other controlled substance will not be permitted by our company. The safety of yourself, your co-workers, and the general public can be jeopardized if alcohol, marijuana or other controlled substances are present in your system while you are working.

As allowed by Georgia statue O.C.G.A. 34-9-17, you will be given a drug/alcohol test(s) after any on-the-job injury. If the presence of any alcohol, marijuana, or any other controlled substance is found in your system your workers’ compensation benefit may be denied.

Also, pursuant to Georgia statue O.C.G.A. 34-9-17, if you refuse to submit to a drug/alcohol test(s) your employment may be terminated and your workers’ compensation benefits may be denied.

The types of test which may be required of you will involve a chemical analysis of your blood, urine, breath, hair, or other bodily substance. All results of any drug/alcohol test will be deemed confidential and will only be made available to the pertinent management of the company and our workers’ compensation insurance carrier.
